Why sellers need to convert HEIC to JPG

Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos as HEIC to keep file sizes small. It's efficient, but it's also the format most likely to trip you up: upload a HEIC to a marketplace listing and you'll often get an "unsupported file" error, and Windows still can't preview it without an add-on. Converting to JPG makes your product photos work everywhere.

How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. Upload your HEIC files — drop them on the box above or click to browse. You can select several at once.
  2. Choose JPG (or PNG if you need lossless) and set the quality.
  3. Click Convert. Each photo is decoded in your browser and given its own download button.
  4. Download your converted images.

Tip: JPG at 85–95% quality is the sweet spot for product photos — visually identical to the original HEIC but universally supported. Only choose PNG if you specifically need lossless quality or a transparent layer.

From phone photo to polished product shot

Converting the format is step one. If you shot the photo on your phone, our guide on taking product photos with your phone covers lighting, angles and backgrounds that make a real difference. Once it's a JPG, you can resize it for each marketplace or compress it for the web.

Frequently asked questions

What is a HEIC file?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default iPhone photo format since iOS 11. It stores high quality at about half the size of JPEG, but many marketplaces, browsers and Windows apps can't open it.

How do I convert HEIC to JPG for free?

Upload your HEIC photos above, choose JPG, and click Convert. No sign-up, no watermark, and nothing is uploaded to a server.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser with a WebAssembly build of libheif, so your photos never leave your device.

Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?

Yes — select or drop several files and they're converted one after another, each with its own download button.
